FLEXMAMI X FBI RADIO

Started my love affair with airing my voice on live radio through FBi Radio's Stolen Records (hosted by amazing selectors Shantan Wantan Ichiban & Mike Who), hosting a pop culture and hip hop gossip segment called The Flex Zone. During this time, I was also co-hosting FBi Click's Sidechains on streamed online radio, then the show swiftly received a promotion to FBi Radio's live Sunsets with Sidechains slot on Friday 6-8pm AEST which brings us to present day.

FLEXMAMI X NIKE X FBI RADIO

It’s been thirty years since Nike first launched the Air Max and revolutionised the sneaker game. To celebrate the anniversary of the iconic shoe, this month we’re teaming up with Nike to bring you Rebels On Air: showcasing and celebrating talented local legends who are each changing the game in their own way.

During the month of March, FBi X Nike released a weekly podcast hosted by yours truly, in addition to a curated playlist by Nike's Revolutionairs.

Flexmami x yo mafia

In this episode,  I had a chat with sneaker freak and DJ, YO! MAFIA. Hear about how she first got into vinyl, the time she supported Stevie Wonder, and why she’s so obsessed with sneakers.

Flexmami x shane o'neill

In episode #2, I chat with one of Australia’s most successful pro skateboarders: Shane O’Neill.

Find out how Shane got to G.O.A.T. status – from growing up skateboarding in the streets of Melbourne to living in LA as one of the most respected talents in the industry. He talks about opportunities for young skaters to follow in his footsteps, particularly now that social media has changed the game, and gives us a polite opinion on Jay Z.

FLEXMAMI X MARTIN NOVOSEL (PURPLE SNEAKERS)

In episode #3, I chat with DJ, artist manager and head honcho of Sydney’s much-loved Purple Sneakers, Martin Novosel.

Hear how Martin has grown Purple Sneakers from a regular club night to an online music hub and weekly radio show dedicated to the best emerging club sounds. He shares stories of failed endeavours that have been just as important as his successful ones, stressing the importance of learning from your mistakes and collaborating with the people around you.

“Ultimately, I just really want to help artists be creative. Because that’s really the thing I’m good at – being able to hear an artist’s music and understand their vision, and put the people in place to get it from the artist to the end listener.”

flexmami x tkay maidza

In episode #4, I chat with Adelaide rapper/national treasure Tkay Maidza.

Tkay talks about her inspirations when it comes to music, art, fashion, and staying ahead of the game. Don’t worry, she went through an ’emo’ phase too – get ready for some Pete Wentz crush confessions!

I think the most important thing is to just trust yourself, never lose sight of why you’re doing what you’re doing in the first place. It’s super relevant for anything and everything.
